TTR SETS

Pre-war sets were packed in long red Trix boxes, normally without track. The Southern Electric set was in a green box. Post-war, boxes were a more convenient rectangular size (as above). The expensive pre-war Presentation sets were in smart wooden boxes. The rare Portable set (mid 1950's) was in a plain wooden box.
Late 50's, sets were packaged in green and red boxes, then in yellow boxes with black lettering. The Cadet and Junior sets had a special illustrated design.

A postwar BR AC goods set in the later shallow box. This did not include a controller or track.
 

The Junior set included a DC loco and a hand powered generator to supply the current.
 

The Junior set was replaced by the Cadet set which used either batteries or a 6 volt transformer/rectifier to supply power.

Above is one of the first DC sets, comprising a 12 volt DC loco, wagons and the new fibre base track. Below is a later goods set.
